Old Firehouse Alley East and Seckner Alley

Location: Old Firehouse Alley

Completion: 2018

Completed in 2018, Old Firehouse Alley East continues the connection from Old Firehouse Alley West between Linden Street and Chestnut Street. A spur, named Seckner Alley, also provides a southern connection to Walnut Street.

At the intersection of Old Firehouse Alley East and Seckner Alley, you’ll find an interactive hidden gem. This visually stunning 3-D mural was painted by world-famous Italian artist Peeta. At night, thanks to the tech wizardry of Alt Ethos, the mural is brought to life with light projection mapping and interactive movement-triggered technology. With light projection mapping, a series of shapes, patterns, and effects are cast upon the static mural from a projector installed overhead. Within a zone of engagement in the alley, a sensor detects motion, and when you cross its path, it activates a spotlight that projects onto the mural, following your movements and the movements of others with additional spotlights. So grab your friends and have some fun!
