Music for My Son: An Exploration of Life Lessons Through Song
Monday, October 20, 7:30 p.m., Organ Recital Hall

Inspired by his son's observant and inquisitive nature, faculty artist Dr. Tim Burns, piano, imagines the life lessons he hopes to provide as a father through an exploration of art song literature. Each selection embodies a general topic for his son to consider – literature, visual art, human nature, and life. Burns is joined by faculty colleagues and vocalists Nicole Asel, Tiffany Blake, Patricia Goble, and John Lindsey, performing Gerald Finzi's Let Us Garlands Bring, Gabriel Fauré's La bonne chanson, Alban Berg's Sieben frühe Lieder, and selections from Jason Robert Brown's Songs for a New World.
