Tapas: Small Plates & Appetizers for Saxophone and Piano
Thursday, November 6, 7:30 p.m., Organ Recital Hall
Join Director of SMTD Dan Goble and long-time collaborator Russell Hirshfield as they offer up “small plates” of music for saxophone and piano. Come savor works by John Adams, Philip Glass, Viet Cuong, Anna Clyne, Paquito D’Rivera, and Giacinto Scelsi as well as the premier of Exquisite Dancers by CSU’s award-winning faculty composer, James David. The concert will feature music from the duo’s most recent recording Second Flight, which is described by Take Effect Reviews as “a body of work that’s never short on melody and rhythm, each track brings different ideas and skilled musicianship that does justice to each composer’s talents.”
CONCERT PROGRAM GUIDES/PLAYBILLS are available in a digital format only and may be viewed by scanning the QR code at the venue entrance or can be viewed in advance through a link on the ticketing site.
