Dances Rustic and Macabre
With Guest Artist Ayo Derbyshire, Horn
Immerse yourself in an evening of symphonic splendor with the University Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Robert Stahly as his master’s degree recital. The evening begins with Jean Sibelius’ hauntingly beautiful Valse Triste, a mesmerizing waltz full of melancholy and longing. The program also features one of the 2024 CSU Concerto Competition winners, Ayo Derbyshire, performing Richard Strauss’ Horn Concerto No. 1. Ludwig van Beethoven’s exhilarating Symphony No. 7 concludes the evening – from energetic rustic rhythms to the famous Allegretto movement to its electrifying finale, this symphony will keep you on the edge of your seat!
