The Symphonic Band, conducted by Dr. Jayme Taylor, presents a delightful mixture of repertoire spanning the breadth of modern concert band history! From the earliest days of concert bands when transcriptions of orchestral literature were a major part of the repertoire comes Gioachino Rossini’s The Barber of Seville and a work by Gustav Holst, one of the world’s most well-known early composers for band. The program also features two major mid-century works from the “golden age” of symphonic bands and two very modern works, including a 2023 composition by CSU’s own Kevin Poelking that won a major international award from the World Association of Symphonic Bands and Ensembles for best new composition.
CONCERT PROGRAM GUIDES/PLAYBILLS are available in a digital format only and may be viewed by scanning the QR code at the venue entrance or can be viewed in advance through a link on the ticketing site.
