Jazz and the Ideal of Democracy
With topic introduction by Wil Swindler, Director of Jazz Bands
Thursday, February 29, 7:30 p.m., Griffin Concert Hall
Jazz Ensembles I and II, under the direction of Wil Swindler and Shilo Stroman, present an evening of music exploring the inexorable link between the American ideal of Democracy and Jazz, the great American art form. This concert explores themes of individual expression, contributions from all members of the group, and jazz music related to civic engagement and Civil Rights in America.
