Art for Breakfast 2 returns to the Silver Grill on Friday, April 17 from 8:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m., expanding on the lively celebration that debuted in fall 2025. The brunch-time event features CSU student artists and performers from across the university, creating an interactive morning of visual art and live performance. Throughout the event, a roving band of CSU student and faculty sketchers will create live portraits of patrons, with extra pencils and paper available so guests can join in the art-making. Tips from the sketching support “Brainy,” the Gregory Allicar Museum of Art’s children’s art-making program.
Performances will take place throughout the morning, including a dance performance by students from the CSU School of Music, Theatre, and Dance, a cello performance by CSU cello students, a wind chamber ensemble, and opera singers from the Ralph Opera Program to close out the lunchtime hour.
The event is hosted and managed by students in the CSU Arts Management program, with artwork also showcased by students from the CSU Green+Gold Initiative, who are helping volunteer throughout the day. Silver Grill owner Alan Jantzen and his team serve as key partners for the event, while Winsor & Newton has generously provided sketchbooks and drawing materials for the roving sketch artists.
