There’s nothing quite like the magic of Old Town when the trees start glowing for the season. But if you look a little closer at the more than 65,000 sparkling white lights illuminating our historic streets, you might just spot something unexpected: a few secret colored bulbs hidden in plain sight!

This year, we’re turning your cozy winter evening stroll into a fun and FREE interactive outdoor adventure. Whether you're out sipping hot cocoa, enjoying dinner with family, or doing a little evening window shopping, keep your eyes peeled. The 12 special colored bulbs are scattered among the trees near historic landmarks, vibrant public art, and favorite community spots.

How to Join the Downtown Winter Lights Scavenger Hunt

1. Grab Your Map & Clue Sheet: Download and print our handy official guide, or save the digital version to your phone.
2. Follow the Clues: Decode the clues to figure out which downtown block or landmark hides a mystery bulb.
3. Spot the Color: When you reach the location, look up! See if you can find the colored bulbs and mark down what color you found on your sheet.
4. Explore & Enjoy: Take your time wandering through the district, popping into local shops, and warming up at cozy cafes along your route.

Tip: The lights turn on every evening at dusk through Sunday, February 14, 2027, making prime hunting hours right around twilight! Bundle up, gather your crew, and let the hunt begin.
