Choose your option:

• $5 Pottery SMASH – Channel all the bad mojo in your life into the clay during your wheel experience.. Let go and allow the Clay to quiet your mind.. at the end you’ll take your two hands and smash the pot! A very freeing and liberating experience!
• $15 Pottery SAVE – Go into this wheel-throwing experience with the intention of keeping your pot.  Choose between making a cup or bowl.  Channel all of your optimism for the summer ahead into your creation but keep an open mind to what unfolds on the wheel and in your future ️. String musicians from Off the Hook Arts will be serenading visitors with holiday carols from 5-7 pm Friday, Dec. 6, at the Global Village Museum of Arts and Cultures.  Off the Hook Arts provides low-cost music education for students while cultivating a love of performing arts through public concerts and special events. Visitors to the Museum will also enjoy free admission from 6-9 pm as part of Fort Collins Art Walk.  In the Museum’s Main Gallery, “Nativities & Festivals of Light” showcases creche scenes and light festivals from around the world.

Come join us for our latest exhibit featuring new work by Larry Tucci and the Rocky Mountain Woodturners. The exhibit will be on view through December 14. 

Larry’s show features an exploration in oil paint, his first exhibition exclusively in oil (see image). This new collection represents a personal challenge, and commitment to artistic growth, pushing his oil painting skills to new levels. Thirty-six new paintings will be on display, all in the dazzling brilliance of rich, oil color. Also on display will be a joint mural project Larry has undertaken with Sylvan Dale Ranch. See this fascinating work in progress, featuring the history and legacy of the famed Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch in Loveland, Colorado.

As always, the Rocky Mountain Woodturners will be showing their latest and best work as well. All just in time for the holidays. We hope to see you there!

Carl and Sarah Judson are our featured ceramic artists this First Friday. They have been a vital part of the Northern Colorado pottery community for decades. Carl has been making pots for 54 years, first at the old Cherry Factory north of Fort Collins, and for the last 40 years at Phantom Canyon Ranch in Livermore with his son Arthur. Sarah earned her BFA in ceramics at CSU, studying with Jim and Nan McKinnell. They introduced her to Michael Cardew, at who’s pottery in England she spent some time. Following graduation, Sarah took up making pots for a living in Fort Collins. She was one of the original founders of both the Fort Collins Potters’ Guild and Trimble Court Artisans. Sarah and Carl have been making pots together since they married almost 20 years ago. Their stoneware is made mostly with local materials, wood fired and salt glazed. Stop by First Friday and get the chance to meet Carl and Sarah, buy a piece of their beautiful work, and try your hand on the potter’s wheel!
