FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE-FORT COLLINS AREA WORLD LAUGHTER DAY CELEBRATION 2024
EVENT DATE: SUNDAY, MAY 5TH, 2024, 10-11am, FORT COLLINS OLD TOWN SQUARE
--It’s official!! Sunday, May 5th marks the Fort Collins area World Laughter Day celebration!! Join Laughter Yoga Teachers Miriam Gassman and Laurie Panger for a FREE family event to celebrate World Laughter Day, a day dedicated to spreading awareness about laughing for health and world peace (friendship is built through positive connection-what better way to build positive connections than with shared laughter?) There are so many reasons to laugh and we’ll be creating our reasons with a ‘western twist’. So giddyap on over, wear comfortable clothes and a cowboy hat if you have one (no yoga mat needed!) and we’ll laugh purely for the fun of it! Laughter Yoga is the practice of laughing by choice-it’s a simple, effective pathway to wellness, stress-relief and fun!! If you need to be seated, please bring your own chair.
Laughter Yoga was created by medical doctor Madan Kataria and his wife, yoga teacher Madhuri Kataria in 1995 and in 1998, they established World Laughter Day, the first Sunday in May, to promote laughter as a catalyst for World Peace (who can fight when they are laughing?).
The practice of laughter helps instill that cooperative, connecting, collaborative effect of peaceful, joyful co-existence with each other where we become flexible and accepting of each other. When we look each other in the eye and have a smile on our face, our differences melt away and we can all have a shared joyous experience. Come and experience this for yourself, your wellness, your relationships, and have an effect on your community and world!
