Details
In The Conch Girl Project, Chinese-born, NYC-based artist Sidian Liu explores themes of displacement, intimacy, and care through a quiet exchange: she visits strangers’ kitchens—cooking for them while requesting minimal in-person contact—and documents the experience. The resulting photographs and reflections were later wheat-pasted on construction boards across New York City, turning private, domestic moments into public art. This exhibition presents images and recipes from the project, including work created during her 2024 Denis Roussel Fellowship residency in Fort Collins.
Exhibit: October 24 – December 19
Artist Reception: Friday, November 14, 5:30 – 7:30 pm, Artist Talk at 6:30 pm
The Art Gallery Hours: Wednesday and Friday, 1:00 – 6:00 pm and before most performances.
