What do you see? Are you sure? Humans are fallible, and our perception is limited at best and distorted at worst. Then we filter our perceptions through the human mind, and it becomes tainted with intuition, bias, and fallacies. Think of Plato’s cave. Imagine you spent your entire life in a cave, seeing only flickering firelight and shadows of three-dimensional objects and people cast upon the wall in front of you, but never the actual objects. Would you even be able to imagine three-dimensional objects, or would you think that you live in a two-dimensional world? Would you be able to imagine a light brighter than the fire, let alone the sun? Would it even occur to you that reality could be any different? Step into my cave, look around, and remember to question what you see and doubt what you understand.
