Misery, Stephen King’s Gripping Tale of Obsession and Survival, Hits the Stage
Step into the suspense with a chilling psychological thriller directed by Jacob Offen

FORT COLLINS – OpenStage invites audiences to experience the chilling upcoming production of Misery, written By William Goldman, based on the novel by Stephen King. Directed by Jacob Offen, Misery is set to enthrall audiences at The Lincoln Center Magnolia Theatre from November 1, through November 29th, 2025.

Directing Misery for OpenStage Theatre & Company is our own Jacob Offen. A longtime collaborator with OpenStage, Jacob has performed in multiple productions with the company and was recently named Producing Artistic Director. Misery marks his first production in that role, launching his directorial work with OpenStage in a thrilling new chapter for both him and the company.

Colorado. A secluded cabin. A total nightmare. After a car crash leaves bestselling romance novelist, Paul Sheldon, stranded in a snowstorm, he’s rescued by Annie Wilkes, his “number one fan”. Unfortunately, her hospitality comes with VERY strict rules. When Annie learns Paul has killed off her favorite character, she insists he fix his mistake… or else! Stephen King’s Misery is a razor-edged thriller about fandom gone feral and the terrifying price of rewriting a story someone doesn’t want to end.

Misery plays from November 1 through November 29. All performances on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday start at 7:30 pm. Sunday matinee performances start at 2:00 pm.

Visit openstage.com/misery for a complete list of performances, including a free student/educator performance (October 31), a pay-what-you-can performance (November 6), and FAB Friday (November 7), which includes a free beer compliments of Odell Brewing Company.

Tickets for Misery are $18-$42. Tickets are available online at openstage.com/misery or by calling The Lincoln Center Box Office at 970.221.6730. The box office is open 1pm–6 pm Tuesday-Saturday.
