Clay Metamorphosis: From Mud to Modern is an exhibit of the many ways the humble element of clay has enhanced our lives. Clay is ubiquitous - it can be found throughout the world and in quantities that some claim could cover the entire earth a mile deep. It is the original plastic material and has been used by humans for thousands of years in ingenious ways. The Clay Metamorphosis exhibit will explore the context in which clay evolved from its natural unbaked state (mud) to the modern fired ceramic objects that are now considered a natural and important part of our lives. You will see how people from around the world - and here in Northern Colorado - express themselves with clay by creating functional objects and captivating art.
