Does your furry (or scaly) friend have whimsical interests? Or perhaps you like dressing them in cute costumes? This is the event for you. Participants will depart from Library Park at 11:40am through Old Town to display their finest wizard robes (well, the light version, it is July) and celebrate the Harry Potter fandom. Different stations of the walk will be designed around the magical creatures of Hogwarts and the studies of esteemed Magizoologist Newt Scamander.
Volunteers will be posted at each station to direct traffic and ensure everyone’s safety. Participants are asked to please pick up after their pets. Pets of all shapes and species are welcome on this adventure, but they must be on a leash or some other restraint. To showcase the most creative costumes for the Pet Walk, participants may enter a costume contest at 11am and be awarded for categories like “Cutest” or “Most Fantastical Creature.” Afterward, participants can reconvene at the park to make blankets for local animal shelters.
