“Sound Affects is a bridge between isolated elders and the live musical experience,” said Hanna Doreen Brown, Sound Affects Executive Director. “We work together with Colorado care facilities, musicians, and a larger community network to bring a variety of personalized, quality music programs to isolated older adults who typically do not have access to live music.”
In addition to supporting musicians to provide subsidized concerts in a variety of musical genres, Sound Affects offers other music-related services such as the “Music Supplies Project,” a program supplying access to care residents through simple gifts such as radios, harmonicas, or a pair of headphones and “The Long Time Listener Project,” a podcast which gives older adults a platform to tell their musical stories and more.
