In advance of the 29th Annual Colorado Brewers' Festival this June, join Fort Collins' craft breweries in a nationwide celebration of independent craft brewing!
Each day from May 14th - 20th, a Fort Collins brewery will be hosting an event in their taproom in celebration of American Craft Beer Week. Each host brewery features an event focused on either malt, water, hops, or yeast with the final (Friday) event held at McClellan’s Brewing Company that will feature special collaboration brews made in cooperation by Fort Collins' craft breweries.

Black Bottle Brewery is hosting an event focused on Hops on Monday, May 14th. They'll be showcasing their "Friar Chuck Kolsch" and will be pouring four versions of it. The first version is the normal Friar Chuck from the tap and the other three will be in firkins packed with different hops. Black Bottle will be doing a Chinook hopped version, a Hersbrucker hopped version, and a Southern Passion hopped version. Guests will be able to buy the flight of four 3-oz pours for $8. Friar Chuck is BBB's lightest beer so the different hops in each one will really stand out and help educate patrons on the power of hops!
Snowbank Brewing is hosting an event focused on Malt on Tuesday, May 15th, which includes an educational session that details malt's growth in the fields, to its role in beer. Snowbank's head brewer, Dave, will speak about how the brewery chooses its malts, and the types of malts for certain beer styles. The brewery will also be hosting two local malt suppliers with samples to smell, touch, taste, as well as supplying samples of its Albedo Blonde Ale, in which local malters were rotated per each batch brewed!
Gilded Goat Brewing Company will be hosting an event on Thursday, May 17th. Gilded Goat dives into the science of brewing and microbiology with a four-way yeast test. They brewed a session IPA and fermented the beer with four different yeast varieties: their house ale yeast, the classic German 34/70 lager yeast, a distinctive Belgian ale yeast, and their house Brettanomyces strain. Guests will be able to buy the flight of four 3-oz pours for $8 and will be able to taste the impact that the different yeast varieties have on the same recipe.
McClellan’s Brewing Company will be hosting the culminating event of the local American Craft Beer Week celebration with the launch of their 100th beer. This beer is a collaboration of all of the craft breweries in town. It is an American-Scottish hybrid beer that has been aged in Feisty Spirits’ bourbon barrels. A true amalgam of all of our brewing passions. Come along and meet all of the people that make Fort Collins brewing the world class destination.
